Boliden named Climate Leader in Europe
Boliden is the only base and precious metals company to feature on the Financial Times’ list of Climate Leaders in Europe.
The list is compiled by the Financial Times and Statista, and ranks the companies in Europe that have shown the greatest reduction in carbon dioxide intensity between 2015 and 2020* relative to profitability.
Boliden was also included on the list last year, but since then the Financial Times and Statista have introduced tighter rules to reflect the increasingly high demands placed on the climate and environmental field. Only three metals and mining companies are on the list, which is the lowest number for any of the sectors represented.
“Naturally it’s an honor for us to have been included on this list for the second year in a row. This shows that we are on the right track as we move towards our goal of reducing carbon dioxide intensity by 40% by 2030, and that the outside world is starting to pay attention to our strong position,” says Åsa Jackson, Director Corporate Responsibility.
