Production at Bergsöe
By midnight January 19, the fire at Bergsöe was extinguished completely. The initiated investigation will determine the cause of the fire, which did not result in any personal injury.
In Bergsöe, lead is recycled from car batteries, and the plant is the largest of its kind in Europe. The now fire-damaged area at Bergsöe contained a facility for separating and recycling plastic from those batteries. The plant was still under construction with deployment originally planned for the first quarter of 2018. Other damages resulting from the fire is minimal.
Once the fire was extinguished, an inspection of the facility was initiated to assess damage. Production at Bergsöe was not affected by the fire.
