The Copper Mark certificate showcases all the hard work that Boliden Harjavalta has put in. In addition to that Harjavalta, as the first Boliden site, also got the Nickel Mark. Copper Mark is an assurance framework where companies commit to meet 32 criteria, based predominantly on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Boliden Harjavalta’s work to achieve certification began in December 2022. In March 2023, an independent assessment was carried out, and the certification was awarded in June 2023.
“We can be proud. In the audit performed by a third party, Boliden Harjavalta could be found to meet all the criteria required. The certification process was completed in just six months. The awarded Copper Mark and Nickel Mark are proof to our customers and other stakeholders for our continuous and progressive work to be a responsible metal producer,” Timo Rautalahti, General Manager, Boliden Harjavalta, concludes.
Earlier this year Boliden Rönnskär received the Copper mark as well.
